Laughing RoomOnly

I recently have been working with the patuxant play house none profit organization as a marketing consultant. Their performances have been underviewed. I got the chance to go see their latest production, called Laughing Room Only. The performance is as follows: Gloria Alexander is about to lose the dilapidated hotel, Whispering Pines for back-taxes. She’d gladly sell the place, but there are no takers. Enter two state officials, with plans to make the hotel a base for a sting operation. They give out the word that the hotel will accept stolen goods, hoping to catch a number of petty criminals operating in the area. Soon the lobby is populated by a parade of cheerful weirdoes like ultra-cool Rondo Muldoon, Irma the bag lady, jewel thieves, a bewildered society leader and frantic young lovers. They’re all fairly normal compared to the clever handyman, Putney, who dreams of being a recluse. One hilarious complication collides with another up to the climax when each visitor turns out to have an unsuspected, rib-tickling reason for being at the hotel.

The play was seen by about 50 people which was sad because it was a very good performance and i wish more people had gotten the chance to see it. Everyone on stage was extreemly rapped up in their roll, they all seemed to ad lib funny lines, and totally get into the characters head. The result was a very good performance. I laughed throughout most of the entire play. From slap-stick comedy to the way characters interacted withone anouther, the play was a total successs. I can't wait for their next production.
